The effect of specific characteristics of companies on investment opportunities in firms accepted in Tehran Stock Exchange

Abstract
In the present research we have studied the effect of the firm size, firm growth and financial leverage on investment opportunities in firms accepted in Tehran Stock Exchange. Regarding the theoretical foundations and the literature to analyze the data a regression model was devised and utilized. The statistical population of the present research includes 85 firms accepted in Tehran Stock Exchange from 2001 to 2011. The results of analyzing the data showed that firm size and firm growth have had a positive and meaningful effect on investment opportunities but the effect of financial leverage on investment opportunities has been reverse and negative. It means that by increasing financial leverage, investment opportunities decrease.
