The Effect of Audit Committee Characteristics on Additional Stock Returns with The Moderating Role of Holding The Company's Cash

Abstract
Cash retention is important because it contributes to the value of the company and also how it is used can be an effective factor in shareholders' valuation of cash. Cash assets are a significant part of a business's assets. The most important factor in the economic health of these units is to strike a balance between the cash available and the cash needs. The audit committee is a very important part of effective governance and accountability. To do this, the audit committee must have three important characteristics of independence, communication and accountability. Is the stock of Tehran.The statistical population of the research is in the period of 6 years between the years 2017 to 2021, which based on the systematic elimination sampling method of 150 companies was considered as a statistical sample. To test the hypotheses, multivariate regression models were used using Eviews8 software and panel-panel data-fixed effects method. The results obtained in this study show that in general, there is a relationship between the members of the audit committee with the management experience and the value of maintaining the company's cash. The findings also showed that the expertise of the members of the audit committee has an effect on the relationship between the members of the audit committee with management experience and the marginal value of maintaining the company's cash.
